As SDA Assessors and clinical OT’s working with people who have complex disabilities, we have experienced SDA from a variety of different angles. Supporting participants to access SDA funding whilst also working with builders and developers to build suitable accommodation. This meant we were needing to connect two very seperate (but important) parts of SDA together constantly: the SDA Design Standard and the Eligibility Legislation to ensure successful outcomes for everyone involved.

This course is a deep dive into what an SDA property looks like at completion as it pertains to the SDA Design Standards: a document setting out design requirements for newly built SDA dwellings. This module has a lot of video content inside a newly constructed SDA Dwelling.

Lauren Hart is an Occupational Therapist and the founder of Optimal Living Therapy. Having graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Lauren has worked in a variety of areas and with an extensive range of clients in her career thus far.
Lauren has completed a diploma in Access Consultancy with the Institute of Access Training Australia. Lauren also has her Liveable Housing Assessor qualification. Lauren works closely with builders and architects on Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) projects, as a consultant, or as an SDA assessor to provide SDA certifications.
